Bucs cut QB Annexstad, sign punter Cooney

The Buccaneers cut quarterback Zack Annexstad and signed former Arizona Cardinals punter Nolan Cooney. Annexstad was signed as an undrafted free agent and was the fourth quarterback on Tampa Bay’s depth chart.

The Buccaneers signed punter Nolan Cooney on Monday, the team announced. In a corresponding move, they placed quarterback Zack Annexstad on the waived/non-football injury list.

Buccaneers Signing P Nolan Cooney, Waiving QB Zack Annexstad

Per Rick Stroud, the Buccaneers are signing punter Nolan Cooney and are waiving QB Zack Annexstad from the non-football injury list to make room. Cooney, 27, went undrafted out of Syracuse back in 2020 before catching on with the Saints.
