The Chicago White Sox are playing abysmally at the moment—or if you consider the entirety of the 2025 season a “moment,” then sure, let’s go with that.
The Chicago White Sox are yet again in a tough stretch and are in the middle of another losing streak. The White Sox dropped their fifth straight game to the Red Sox, where they gave them a nice welcome to Boston, beating them by a score of 10-3.
The Chicago White Sox had a nice win over the Cincinnati Reds yesterday, beating them by a score of 7-3. The White Sox have had an okay spring, going 6-13 in the Cactus League, which is tied for last with the San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners.
But there were actually a few good things that happened for the White Sox OK, we’re used to losing and it’s nice this one doesn’t count. Still, a win would have been a pleasant surprise.
It’s halfway through the first week of White Sox camp, and many of the guys are just starting to get back into the groove. Although Wednesday was a quiet day overall from Arizona, Chris Getz and Will Venable provided some updates on injuries to a couple of young players and an update on the starter for Saturday’s Spring opener.
The Royals announced that they’ve designated infielder Braden Shewmake for assignment. That opens a 40-man roster spot for reliever Carlos Estévez, who inked a two-year free agent deal.
The Cleveland Guardians (53-31) have a home game at Progressive Field against the Chicago White Sox (25-63) at 1:10 PM ET on Thursday. The Guardians will give the nod to Ben Lively (7-4) against the White Sox and Jared Shuster (1-0).
