On Thursday, the Chicago Blackhawks announced that the team has agreed to terms with forward Cole Guttman on a one-year, two-way contract that runs through the 2024-25 season.
First it was Nolan Allan. Now it’s Cole Guttman missing time due to injury. The Rockford IceHogs announced that forward Cole Guttman is out three to four weeks as a result of a shot he took the other night–which was perhaps the worst birthday gift he could have received.
As if being the American Hockey League’s player of the week wasn’t enough, how about being the AHL’s Player of the Month, too? Cole Guttman nabbed both honors with the heater he’s been on dating back to the start of the month.
Cole Guttman was a spark plug for the Blackhawks, playing hard and zipping around the ice with ferocity. So when he was sent back to the Rockford IceHogs with a number of forwards fighting for spots in Chicago, the 24-year-old took some time to acclimate and find his spot.
