The No. 3 pick of the 2014 NFL Draft has ridden off into the sunset without giving anybody any advance warning. Per Jeremy Layton of the New York Post, quarterback Blake Bortles confirmed on the latest edition of the "Pardon My Take" podcast that his playing career has come to an end. "I have not touched a football since January.
Bortles fell down the depth chart after New Orleans acquired Dalton and noted the 29-year-old wants "a better opportunity to be a No. 2 quarterback elsewhere."
The New Orleans Saints' quarterback situation just got even more interesting.
Bortles will be the third QB on the roster behind disgruntled starter Aaron Rodgers and 2020 first-round pick Jordan Love.
Bortles has been with the Broncos since late September and is free to join the Rams' active roster since he's only on Denver's practice squad.
